Great Basin College is recruiting for an Administrative Assistant 2 for the Health Sciences and Human Services Department. The incumbent will provide administrative support to the program supervisors, department chair, and teaching and administrative faculty. This position will assist the department chair in the coordination of scheduling courses and programs, input, add, change and cancel courses each semester in Peoplesoft, maintain department and student records, submit work orders, maintain office supply inventory, coordinate with other GBC departments and centers on projects for program outreach and other duties as assigned. Take correspondence with multiple departments to assist in advertising and student advisement scheduling, updating social media and program websites, creating program flyers and updating/formatting internal documents.
This position will also provide support to the Dean of Health Sciences and Human Services and the Administrative Assistant 4.
Graduation from high school or equivalent education and two years of clerical and administrative support experience which included experience in one or more of the following areas: maintaining records and files; preparing a variety of materials using a personal computer or word processor; assisting customers in completing forms and applications; and/or performing secretarial duties in support of professional staff; OR one year of experience as an Administrative Assistant I in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
This position requires customer service experience and basic experience using Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.
A valid Class "C" Nevada driver's license or higher operator's license is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment.
The typical work schedule is Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm; this is subject to change based on organizational needs.
