The Department of Biology at Colorado State University (CSU) is one of eight departments in the College of Natural Sciences. The Department has a strong commitment to undergraduate and graduate teaching, as well as an international reputation for excellence in research across a broad range of disciplines, including cell and molecular biology, physiology of plants or animals, animal behavior, ecology, evolutionary biology and computational/theoretical biology. Position Summary
The Department of Biology at Colorado State University requests applications for an Assistant Professor researching plant form and function to enable creative solutions for a sustainable future. We are seeking an individual applying molecular biology-based research approaches to study plant metabolism, cell biology, physiology and development. Potential areas of investigation could include but are not limited to the following: plant responses and adaptation to climate change and other abiotic stressors, plant-microbe interactions with a focus on mutualism or commensalism, phytohormone signaling and development, plant metabolic engineering, or plant chromatin biology.

Required Job Qualifications
  • The applicant must have a Ph.D. in biology, molecular/cell biology, plant biology or related field by the time of appointment.
  • The applicant must demonstrate excellence in research through authorship of peer-reviewed publications investigating plant form and function.
Preferred Job Qualifications
  • 2+ years postdoctoral experience.
  • Evidence of successful grant writing.
  • Evidence of impactful teaching and/or mentoring, and engagement in inclusivity activities.
  • Evidence of successful research achievements associated with current experience.
