Description of Work Unit

The Department of Forest and Rangeland Stewardship (FRS) at Colorado State University is an interdisciplinary academic program uniquely poised to advance education, research, and outreach in forest and rangeland ecosystems. Existing programs of emphasis in the department include forest and rangeland ecology, natural resource management, fire science, vegetation measurement and biometry, policy and planning, and restoration ecology. Position Summary
The individual will work with Sarah Hart at Colorado State University and collaborators in the Earth Lab at the University of Colorado Boulder to plan, conduct, and disseminate results of research related to the effects of aspen on wildfire activity and effects.
Required Job Qualifications
  • PhD in forestry, ecology, geography, or another related field by the desired start
  • Demonstrated expertise in Google Earth Engine, R, python, remote sensing, simulation modeling, and/or machine-learning algorithms
Preferred Job Qualifications
  • Expertise in fire science
  • Evidence of publishing in refereed journals
