  • Administrator: Associate Athletic Director, Development
  • Education Required: Baccalaureate degree in Sports Administration, Business, Marketing, Communications or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Education Preferred: Demonstrated experience in development or athletic marketing for collegiate athletics, professional sports or a related field with proven experience in achieving business related goals.
  • Preferred Experience: Demonstrated experience in annual giving and progressive results-orientated experience at NCAA Division 1 (including FCS football) or professional sports level; knowledge of Big Sky Conference and NCAA rules and regulations.
  • Overtime Status: Exempt, not eligible for overtime.
  • Full Time Equivalent: 1.0 (40 hours a week)

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Assistant Athletic Director, Annual Fund & Fan Engagement (Assistant Director) for the Montana State University Alumni Foundation (Alumni Foundation) works with and reports directly to the Associate Athletic Director for Development, as part of the Alumni Foundation's Development Team and in collaboration with the Montana State University MSU Athletics Department. The Assistant Director is responsible for the Annual Scholarship Fund for Bobcat Athletics, promoting and expanding the understanding and revenue for the department's Student-Athlete Scholarships through increased awareness and growth within the MSU Athletics Community, state of Montana and region.

This position requires high collaboration, motivation, and skill in creating and executing compelling annual giving and engagement strategies.

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Collaborate with Annual Fund and Athletics team by contributing to fundraising efforts to build a pipeline of private support for MSU within the athletics constituent group.
  • Manage the day-to-day operation of the Bobcat Annual Scholarship Fund, including planning, implementing, coordinating, and promoting all aspects of the Bobcat Club Annual Scholarship Fund, including but not limited to season ticket campaigns and subsequent donation requirements, unique fundraising initiatives, special events, and social media in conjunction with the athletic department and Alumni Foundation social media teams.
  • Assist in the coordination of all Bobcat Club communications with its constituents; develop and maintain Bobcat Club budget and marketing plan.
  • Coordinate, monitor and solicit Department of Intercollegiate Athletics staff for Bobcat Club Annual Scholarship contributions.
  • Oversee and coordinate Bobcat Club/Athletic Department special fundraising initiatives.
  • Develop, manage and maintain The Athlete Network, an engagement tool for current and past student athletes.
  • Be present at game days to help coordinate and run premium hospitality areas.
  • Work independently and contribute to a collaborative environment; demonstrate the ability to work with confidential information and exercise sound judgment.
  • Affect and maintain a professional, proactive, positive, highly collaborative, and performance-centric work environment.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

  • Ability to solicit gifts for the Bobcat Club Annual Scholarship Fund, including but not limited to speaking with current and potential donors.
  • Proven brand building skills and creative thought process.
  • Detail-oriented with strong time and project management skills as well as the ability to maintain accurate and detailed reports.
  • Technically competent and comfortable using a variety of software applications including MS Office and data management systems.
  • Experience working with email marketing platforms and knowledge of tracking effective analytics.
  • Ability to analyze data and make data-driven decisions and recommendations.
  • Eager to play an important role on the annual giving team and to be a part of a mission-driven fundraising operation.
  • Excellent work ethic including willingness and ability to work evenings and weekends as needed.
