Position Highlights

The Materials Science and Engineering department (MSE) is seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Research Associate with expertise in modeling and simulation of plasticity and damage of metallic materials. The ideal candidate should have experience in FE modeling. This position is full-time, and on-site at the University of Arizona in Tucson, AZ.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Contribute to a research project in close collaboration with the PI on modeling plasticity of anisotropic metallic materials.
  • Lead models implementations in FE codes.
  • Lead the verification and validation efforts.
  • Contribute to presentation and dissemination of research findings in technical meetings and peer reviewed journals
  • Collaborate with research team.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  •  Knowledge of mechanics of materials
Minimum Qualifications
  • PhD in Mechanics, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering or related field upon hire.
  • Selected candidate must have Ph.D. conferred upon hire.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in preparing, writing, editing, and revising research articles.
  • Experience with interpretation and analysis of mechanical tests
  • Experience in implementation of plasticity models in FE codes.
