Position Highlights

Dr. Anirban Kundu at the Department of Urology of the University of Arizona (UA) Tucson is seeking one enthusiastic postdoctoral research associate to join its newly formed lab supported by DoD and UA-startup fund. The Kundu lab studies basic cancer molecular biology focusing on epigenetic, epitranscriptomic, metabolic, and cell signaling pathways in kidney cancer progression. Mentoring will be will be provided to develop own research niche, apply for independent fellowships, etc. that will help them in academic career ladder.

Duties & Responsibilities

This person will be responsible for basic cell and molecular biology techniques including, but not limited to, cloning, plasmid purification, mutagenesis, gene editing, cell culture, shRNA and siRNA based gene manipulation, transfection, lentivirus generation and transduction, protein and RNA isolation from cell and tissue, qPCR, western blot, confocal microscopy, flow cytometry, etc. and in vivo tumor xenograft and PDX study. They will also provide lab support in the form of inventory management, project oversight, lab management, and supervision of other lab members.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
Minimum Qualifications
  • Fully conferred PhD.
  • Experience with basic biochemistry, cellular, and molecular biology lab techniques.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior work in the field of cancer molecular biology.
  • Prior work experience with mice.
  • Experience with large cancer data sets (TCGA, RNAseq, or similar).
