Summary:

Responds to the health education needs of the department; develops and implements community and professional educational program plans, intervention strategies, educational trainings, meetings and seminars; assists in the collection of data and resources for development and evaluation of grants, research, educational programs, educational or promotional materials in the department and through outreach programs; works under the supervision of the Director and in collaboration with the Program Coordinator; works with community volunteers, Roswell Park staff, clinicians and investigators to develop and present educational programs for patients, public and professionals related to cancer education; trains and coordinates the training curriculum for volunteers, staff and community members as it relates to cancer and health disparities programs and interventions; works collaboratively with other agencies, institutions and individuals in Western New York to create, evaluate and present appropriate cancer education programs and materials to meet the missions and goals of the department, including opportunities for telemedicine education; writes, edits proofreads and copyedits a variety of documents for health care professionals, patients and the lay public, including educational materials, brochures, posters, presentation materials and articles for publication.

The salary range for this position is $50,678- $64,393 annually which includes a comprehensive benefits package.

 
Qualifications:

Required Education and Experience
1. Master’s degree in public health, health education or a related field and the equivalent of one (1) year of full-time experience or a combined one (1) year of full-time experience and internship experience in a community, patient or customer-oriented support; or
2. Bachelor’s degree in public health, health education or a related field and the equivalent of three (3) years of full-time experience or a combined three (3) years of full-time experience and internship experience in a community patient or customer-oriented support; or
3. Associates degree in public health, health education or a related field and the equivalent of five (5) years of experience in a community patient or customer-oriented support; or
4. High School diploma or High School Equivalency diploma and the equivalent of seven (7) years of experience in a community patient or customer-oriented support.
NOTE:
Required degrees must have been granted by an accredited college or university or one recognized by Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center as following acceptable educational practices.
