Post-Doctoral Research Associate

Description: The Min H. Kao Department of Electrical Engineering & Computer Science invites applications for a full-time Postdoctoral research position in power electronics. The compensation package includes a competitive salary, health benefits, career mentoring, and conference travel support.

Duties/Responsibility

Lead independent research in power electronics with applications such as electric vehicle (EV) drive trains, EV charging, and vehicle to grid operation, renewable energy interface, and micrgorids. Includes development of simulation models and associated case studies as well as design, assembly, and testing of hardware prototypes. The post-doc will work closely with and mentor student researchers. They will be expected to publish in peer-reviewed journals and at top IEEE conferences.

Minimum/Required Qualifications

• PhD in electrical engineering with a publication record in power electronics 
• Hands-on experience with design, testing, and control of power converters 
• Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a team involving PhD students
• Comfort working on multiple, related projects, simultaneously
• Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively
