The Division of Nutritional Sciences at Cornell University is seeking applications for a postdoctoral research associate in nutrition systematic reviews and evidence synthesis, funded by a grant from the Gates Foundation. The overall goal of the project is to accelerate progress in understanding optimal maternal nutrition in pregnancy to improve maternal and child health (MCH) throughout the life span by conducting key evidence reviews and advancing methodological tools of nutrition evidence synthesis for biomarker discovery.  More specifically, the successful candidate will perform and publish systematic and narrative reviews of animal and model system literature related to maternal nutrient exposure and maternal/child health outcomes.

The successful applicant will have a doctoral degree, a record of accomplishment in nutrition or related biological, public health, epidemiology, or medical field, and will have training/experience in conducting systematic reviews. Candidates should demonstrate quantitative/qualitative research skills, excellent written and oral communication skills, and the ability to work independently and with collaborators. A track record of original, first-author publications in nutrition, especially in systematic reviews/evidence synthesis, is desirable. US citizenship or permanent residency is required for this position.  

Research will be conducted under the supervision of Dr. Martha Field. Emphasis will be placed on leading systematic reviews and writing narrative reviews. This position will also provide opportunities for career development.  Successful completion of the project will require close collaboration with colleagues focusing on additional aspects of the project (i.e., evidence synthesis related to human maternal exposure and MCH outcomes and computational approaches to evidence synthesis).  This position is based in Ithaca, NY, though may be amenable to some level of remote work. Pay Range:

$56,484.00 - $81,000.00

Pay Ranges:

The hiring rate of pay for the successful candidate will be determined considering the following criteria:

• Prior relevant work or industry experience.
• Education level to the extent education is relevant to the position.
• Academic Discipline (faculty pay ranges reflects 9-month annual salary)
• Unique applicable skills.
