JOB DETAILS: 

The Department of Molecular Biosciences at the University of South Florida (Tampa campus) invites applications for a 9-month, tenure-earning faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor in genome integrity with the expected start date of August 7, 2024.

We particularly encourage applicants whose research expands and complements our current interests in DNA replication, genome instability, and oxidative stress (https://www.usf.edu/artssciences/departments/molecular-biosciences/research/index.aspx) and who seek to establish an innovative research program with a focus in this area, including but not limited to molecular and cellular mechanisms of genome instability, DNA damage response, chromatin biology, environmental exposures (the exposome), DNA damage outcomes, and disease.

The successful candidate will be expected to develop and maintain a strong, externally funded research program, as well as to contribute to the education of undergraduate and graduate students. About the Department of Molecular Biosciences:
The Department of Molecular Biosciences is part of the College of Arts and Sciences (CAS). Opportunities for collaboration exist within CAS, including with the Departments of Chemistry and Physics, and across the USF campus, including with the Morsani College of Medicine, the H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center and Research Institute, and the Johnnie B. Byrd Sr. Alzheimer's Institute. QUALIFICATIONS (Education & Experience):

Minimum Qualifications: Candidates should have a Ph.D. degree in Biology or a related discipline, postdoctoral experience, and a successful track record of publications in fundamental and/or applied research in genome maintenance. Applications from individuals who are ABD will be accepted, but
the degree must be conferred by appointment start date. Must meet university criteria for appointment to the rank of Assistant Professor.
