Supports recruitment efforts by interviewing and evaluating applicants; supports admissions efforts by selecting applicants for admission and coordinating admissions across the University. May travel and recruit in a specific territory. Counsels students and parents regarding the admissions process.

The job leads and provides expertise on developing strategies, policies, and procedures for admissions, recruitment, or both. Leads recruiting efforts by monitoring the interview and applicant evaluation process; will also support admissions efforts by reviewing applicants selected for admission.

1) Recommends plans to increase brand awareness and alumni engagement as it relates to the College's admissions in the relevant region. Develops relationships with high schools and school counselors in the area. Leads planning for and attends yield events, information sessions, and college fairs., 2) Provides expertise to expand outreach messaging via alumni clubs and special events and/or reunions. Maintains updated alumni contact records and cultivates new contacts in appropriate industries. Manages portfolio of prospective students that require special handling., 3) Manages regional event programming such as receptions and career trek field trips for students. Works independently to expand outreach to employers in the region., 4) Performs other related work as needed.


Job Summary

The Senior Associate Director of Admissions Operations is a highly visible role that works cross-functionally within Chicago Booth and across the University of Chicago. Serving as the Slate CRM system expert, the Senior Associate Director has an integral role in providing vision and leadership to ensure a seamless and flawless process throughout all stages of the prospective, admitted, and matriculating student lifecycle. The Senior Associate Director manages the Admissions Operations team, which oversees and guides the MBA admissions lifecycle, integrity, and efficiency of applications, CRM system support, all reporting, and analysis of the effectiveness of recruiting efforts.


Unit-Specific Responsibilities

1) Lead the Operations team in the management of Technolutions Slate CRM system; performs analyses of systems, anticipates problems and proactively identifies solutions, and makes recommendations.

2) Evaluate results relating to the development, enhancement, and maintenance of database management systems; manage and monitor work flow of processes within databases; coordinate system audits to ensure data integrity and accuracy; and oversee database upgrades and testing.

3) Provide oversight of the Full-Time, Evening, and Weekend MBA admissions office workflow process to ensure a seamless experience from prospective student through enrollment and matriculation.

4) Lead the Operations team in all operational duties related to the application, review, and selection procedures; including application review process and decision release.

5) Identify, evaluate, recommend, and implement admission-related new technologies; establish best practices and policies, facilitate employee system training, and manage new technology solutions and ideas in order to continuously improve processes and contribute to a culture of innovation.

6) Coordinate trouble-shooting of platform issues and respond to system related inquires and issues from Slate users; work with various teams to communicate resolutions.

7) Act as lead on all admissions-related data reporting, including internal and external admissions constituents.

8) Lead the implementation of Tableau, creating reports and queries to inform and guide Admissions strategies and operations.

9) Manage the delivery of digital communications to prospective students, ensuring best-in-class experience and processes.

10) Serve as the liaison for all technology and operation relationships with the central University and internal audiences.

11) Manage three professional team members who oversee the annual application building process, reporting, IT relations, and the Admissions CRM (Slate).

12) Manage the Admissions Manager who oversees the student-visa application process, employment and academic verification process.

1) Demonstrated proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) database technology and managing CRM systems (Slate); advanced SQL skills.

2) Learn new and teach new technologies quickly.

4) Work independently with little supervision; possess a self-motivated disposition; identify opportunities for improvement and recommend effective changes, all while achieving key objectives resulting in desired outcomes.

6) Handle multiple detailed tasks/projects simultaneously and meet strict deadlines with frequent interruptions.

7) Demonstrated ability to work effectively and diplomatically with colleagues, as well as with students, faculty and corporate contacts in a multitude of communication methods i.e., in person, email, phone.

8) Professional demeanor, including tact, discretion, and a customer service-oriented approach.


Education, Experience, and Certifications

Minimum requirements include a college or university degree in related field.


Minimum requirements include knowledge and skills developed through 7+ years of work experience in a related job discipline.


Preferred Qualifications


1) Bachelor’s degree.

2) Master’s degree.



1) A minimum five years of experiences in admissions operations.

2) Experience working in higher education.

3) A minimum one year of successfully managing a team to achieve results.
