Position Description

Lincoln Land Community College is currently accepting applications for a Director, Apprenticeship Programming. This position reports to the Associate Vice President, Academic Services and will be responsible for implementing an initiative designed to increase the number of apprentices training at LLCC. Overall, the Director of Apprenticeship Programming will help prepare students for work in high-demand fields through the development of apprenticeship partnerships with local employers helping to meet their employment needs.

Essential job responsibilities include:

  • Provide leadership and management for the Apprenticeship Office and coordinates support for apprenticeship programs.

  • Organize events aimed at students and local employers to educate about and recruit for apprenticeship activities.

  • Implement and manage apprenticeship partnerships and programs, beginning with IT-related programs and transitioning to institution-wide programs.

  • Interact with industry, non-profit, advisory committees, community groups, students, and workforce partners to establish apprenticeships, recruit apprentices/students, and manage apprenticeships.

  • Develop and implement outreach, recruitment, and retention practices to support students in apprenticeship programs.

  • Perform apprenticeship program management responsibilities including registering businesses and apprentices, tracking activities, ensuring compliance, instructor/student/employer evaluations, student academic progress and performance at worksite, and reporting results.

  • Document Apprenticeship programs and apprentices through data collection, analysis, and reports, including but not limited to: grades, attendance, job descriptions, performance evaluations and placement/conversion data.

  • Establish partnerships with Credit and Adult Education faculty, staff, and professional colleagues to match and align programming with apprenticeship.

  • In collaboration with Public Relations and Marketing, develop content for apprenticeship marketing efforts, website enhancements, and social media outreach.

  • Represent and promote the college at affinity groups, professional business associations, and community and networking events.

  • Ensure achievement of expected outcomes, maintain fiscal accountability, and ensure compliance with existing grant requirements.

  • Evaluate, recommend, and assist with applications for appropriate funding sources that align with apprenticeship activities.

Salary will be commensurate with education and experience but will be no less than $52,922 per year with an excellent benefit package.

Position Requirements

Requirements include:

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • Program development and/or project management experience

  • Experience in the planning and implementation of system-level procedures

  • Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently and manage multiple projects

Experience with business and industry and knowledge of apprenticeship programs (trade-based or Department of Labor registered) and/or work-based learning models preferred.

Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a criminal background check and drug screen.
