The Department of Health Policy and Management, jointly with the Columbia Aging Center, seeks applicants for a faculty position at the Assistant Professor level, beginning November 1, 2023.

This position reports to the Director of the International Longevity Center-USA, the Director of the Robert N. Butler Columbia Aging Center, and the Chair of the Department of Health Policy and Management.

Competitive applicants will hold a doctoral degree in gerontology, epidemiology, sociology, psychology, anthropology, public health, medicine, nursing, or other related field. Applicants also should have 15 years of experience in aging and health policy. In addition, they will have a detailed knowledge of the U.S. health and long-term care systems in relation to aging and older people. They will also have an advanced understanding of the application of innovative techniques to foster healthy longevity.  Successful candidates will have excellent skills in research, writing, working collaboratively, and working across disciplines, and will demonstrate outstanding potential for research and teaching.

The Department of Health Policy and Management has a multidisciplinary faculty that trains Masters level students in health policy and health administration. We maintain close ties with Columbia's Graduate School of Business, Graduate School of Arts and Sciences, College of Physicians and Surgeons, and School of International and Public Affairs, as well as with many New York area healthcare delivery and research institutions.

The Columbia Aging Center is anchored in the Mailman School of Public Health because accomplishing health in longer lives is central to experiencing the opportunities of longer lives, for all.  Its faculty conducts research along the spectrum from cells to population health to policy to societal transformations needed and educates undergraduate, doctoral students, and postdoctoral fellows.
