Position Duties
We seek outstanding candidates who demonstrate the ability to develop and teach new and existing undergraduate and graduate courses in content areas specific to our undergraduate program in forensic studies (BA) and two graduate programs (MS) in Biological Forensics and Forensic Pattern Analysis. The successful candidate is also expected to develop a research program with the potential for extramural funding and that involves undergraduate and graduate students. Preference will be given to candidates whose research addresses questions in pattern evidence and/or biological forensics. The new faculty member will participate in undergraduate advisor and departmental and university service.
The successful candidate will teach 2 upper-level undergraduate/graduate courses per year in Veterinary Forensics, Statistics in Forensic Science, Forensic DNA, Forensic Pattern Evidence, Forensic Anthropology, QA/QC, Questioned Documents, Bloodstain pattern analysis and contribute to introductory courses in forensic studies and capstone courses for undergraduates and graduate students. The successful applicant will overall have a 3-3 load, reduced to 2-3 load in the first year. The successful candidate should possess an awareness of and interest in high impact practices in line with the mission of Jesuit higher education. Faculty development opportunities are also available, including startup funds for establishing a research program. Required Qualifications
MS in Forensic Science or related discipline
Ability to develop a nationally recognized research program involving undergraduate and graduate
Interest in serving as an academic advisor
Preferred Qualifications
PhD in Forensic Science or related discipline
Postdoctoral experience
Previous college teaching experience
