DGF seeks a full-time fundraising professional to work closely with the Executive Director to meet and grow contributed income goals.
DGF seeks an entrepreneurial and dynamic Development Director to lead and oversee all fundraising including annual, major and planned giving. Over the past five years, DGF’s annual operating budget has tripled and the majority of our infrastructural growth has been supported by significant gains in contributed income. We are seeking a self-directed fundraising professional with a strong passion for theater who wants to make a meaningful difference during the next phase of the organization’s evolution. We are interested in meeting with experienced professionals who can thrive in a small office. This individual should be a strategic thinker and strong collaborator who has the ability to see opportunity and employ the systems, processes, and staff to execute on budget and on schedule. They/she/he will report directly to the Executive Director and will also work closely with the staff and an incredible Board of award-winning business and theater professionals.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead all fundraising efforts, strategy and operations for individual, special events, institutional, and corporate funders to achieve revenue goals
Oversee the creation, implementation and analysis of all fundraising strategies and operations using best industry practices, data and research, to set goals across all contributed income lines
Plan, execute and evaluate all annual giving activities including direct mail and special events with an emphasis on increasing revenue and renewals through year-round cultivation
Plan, execute and evaluate annual cultivation events
Front-line fundraise with individuals and institutional donors and collaborate with Executive Director and the Board in these efforts
Develop and execute practices to deepen and steward donors
Liaison directly with Board and appropriate Board Committees on all fundraising and Board Development initiatives
Create collateral and related materials for fundraising activities
Manage full-time development staff and contractors to achieve annual goals
Work with marketing team to execute fundraising messaging and appeals
Prepare tracking reports for Executive Director and present at Board meetings
Manage department budget
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum of 5 years in a fundraising management position
Experience in planning, projecting revenue and executing strategy, both short term and long term
Experience in using a disciplined fundraising portfolio and/or tracking systems to monitor, manage and report
Experience and excellence in front line fundraising
Experience and excellence in Board and donor communication
Experience planning and managing fundraising events
Experience with DonorPerfect, a plus
Goal and detail-oriented with excellent organizational, writing and communication skills; the ability to work independently and collaboratively while managing multiple priorities and projects at once from beginning to end
Team player who strives to bring the best out in themselves and others
Must be able to work nights and occasional weekends, primarily around events
