Part Time Program Assistant - Facilities 

 

DESCRIPTION:

Edmonds Community College is seeking a Part-time Program Assistant to perform office support and customer service to the needs of campus community in support of the college mission, goals and values. The position reports to the Program Manager of Facilities and Capital Projects. 

Responsibilities include: 

  • Provide excellent customer service and respond effectively via 2-way radio, telephone and email. 

  • Initiates Work Order requests; record cost, labor hours and closing Work Orders.

  •  Collecting, researching and updating Safety Data Sheets (SDS) Database. Database is for chemical products used at campus and must have the ability to understand SDS outline format. 

  • Assist with updating Facilities web pages.

  • Maintain records of financial documents, vendor and project files, Safety Data Sheets (SDS), archives, and electronic files.

  • Create Work Orders for two primary event locations.

  • Other projects as assigned.

Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • High school or equivalent completion.

  • One year or more proven data entry work experience and administrative experience.

  • Proficient word processing skills to be able to merge and sort, integrate text with graphics, uploading and downloading, create records with spreadsheets, maintain two complex databases.

  • Experience with office equipment, such as copier, telephone, and scanner.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Excellent attention to detail, ability to stay focused, organizational and reasoning skills.

  • Outstanding communication skills. Must be able to communicate in clear, concise and professional manner through spoken, written and electronic processes.

  • Basic web page skills to assist with updates.

  • Basic research and data collection skills.

  • Knowledge of basic accounting.

Additional Information

PHYSICAL WORK ENVIRONMENT:  

Work is typically performed in an office setting, and requires the use of a personal computer. The ability to use a 2-way radio, multi-line telephone, personal computer, and other electronic technology is required. Ability to lift 25 pounds. Must have the ability to handle high volume office projects and be flexible to change priorities with a high level of accuracy and speed. The office is located on the second floor of the building and an elevator is not available for use.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:

  • You must document your citizenship or employment authorization within three days of hire.

  • Criminal background checkPrior to a new hire, a background check including criminal history will be conducted. Information from the background check will not necessarily preclude employment but will be considered in determining the applicant's suitability and competence to perform in the position.

  • All new positions are contingent upon funding.

  • At this time, Edmonds Community College does not sponsor H1-B Visas.

 

COMPENSATION:

$15.50 per hour. Up to 16 hours per week.
