The Opportunity:

The School of Public Administration (SPA) at the University of Central Florida (UCF) invites applicants for a 9-month, non-tenure earning lecturer or instructor with a start date of Fall 2024. The selected candidate will teach courses in nonprofit management and other related disciplines within the school’s undergraduate and graduate programs.

The highly ranked School of Public Administration offers NASPAA accredited Master of Public Administration and Master of Nonprofit Management (first accredited nonprofit program in the world by NASPAA) programs, a PAB accredited Master of Science in Urban & Regional Planning, a Master of Emergency and Crisis Management, a Ph.D. in Public Affairs, undergraduate public administration, nonprofit management, and emergency management degrees, a first of its kind international dual degree in Public Administration/Nonprofit Management, and graduate and undergraduate certificate program and minors (Emergency Management and Homeland Security, Nonprofit Management, Public Administration, and Urban and Regional Planning). The School of Public Administration has one of the largest PA programs in the Southeast with active partnerships with state and local government and community nonprofit agencies. The School of Public Administration is housed in the College of Community Innovation and Education and is located in the state-of-the art facility with access to full equipped multimedia classrooms at the UCF Downtown Orlando campus.

Minimum Qualifications:

By time of appointment, the successful candidate must hold a master’s degree (for instructor) or a Ph.D. (for lecturer) in Public Administration, Public Affairs, Nonprofit Management, Public Policy, or related field from an accredited institution. Teaching experience in public administration and/or nonprofit management in both face-to-face and online formats is expected.

Preferred Qualifications:

Nonprofit work experience, excellent interpersonal skills, ability to work with a diverse range of students and a strong command of public speaking.
