Posting Summary
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking an Information Specialist for the Office of Employment Equity. This position is responsible for managing a dynamic database of case information related to investigations and accommodations, creating custom internal and external reports, and reporting case information in compliance with state and federal law. The Information Specialist will collect case information from various sources, work with the investigators and disability specialists to ensure accurate data, and report on patterns and trends related to complaints and accommodation files. This position will also oversee strategic process improvements for data management through clarifying processes for data collection, capturing reporting needs from stakeholders, and working with OneSource to develop process improvements.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
  • Oversees strategic process improvements for data management through clarifying processes for data collection, capturing reporting needs from stakeholders, and working with OneSource to develop process improvements. This will involve working with stakeholders to identify reporting needs related to OEE data and working with OneSource to implement and test process improvements.
  • Maintains a dynamic database of case information related to investigations and accommodations, create custom internal and external reports, and report case information in compliance with state and federal law. Additionally, issue case-related documents via the case management system.
  • Collects case information from various sources (phone, email, case management system), identifies urgent response needs and makes appropriate outreach referrals, works with the investigators and disability specialists to ensure accurate data, and reports on patterns and trends related to complaints and accommodations.
  • Acts as a knowledge resource for the University community related to OEE’s policies and practices, as well as campus and community resources.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Consistent with the current application of Rutgers Policy 60.3.22, this position may be eligible for a hybrid work arrangement.
The flexible work arrangements outlined in Rutgers Policy 60.3.22 are part of a pilot program that is effective September 1, 2022 through August 31, 2024. Therefore, there is no guarantee that this flexible work arrangement will continue beyond that date. Flexible work arrangements are not permanent, are subject to change or cancellation and contingent on the employee receiving approval in the FlexWork@RU Application System. Qualifications


Minimum Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree preferably in data sciences, human resources, or a related field or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
  • A minimum of two years of relevant experience.
Certifications/Licenses
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Advanced technical and analytical knowledge.
  • Responsible for data analysis for hot spots, custom reports, and overseeing strategic process improvements.
  • Ability to organize and present data to ensure accuracy of reports for high level meetings including UHR budget presentations and federal reporting.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in data sciences, human resources, or a related field.
  • Three years of experience.
  • Human Resources experience.
  • Experience in higher education policies and procedures.
  • Familiarity with federal and state anti-discrimination, harassment, and disability laws, including Title IX.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft suite, especially Excel.

Immunization Requirements


Under Policy 60.1.35 Immunization Policy for Rutgers Employees and Prospective Employees , Rutgers University requires all prospective employees to provide proof that they are vaccinated against COVID-19 prior to commencement of employment, unless the University has granted the individual a medical or religious exemption.
