Job Summary
The Special Populations Coordinator will assist special populations students (as defined by Perkins V, e.g., economically disadvantaged, adults preparing for non-traditional fields, single parents, English learners, out of workforce, and homeless individuals) with enrollment, retention, and transition into postsecondary education and employment. This individual will also assist in marketing efforts towards this population of learners and will direct students to needed resources related to college admission, enrollment, retention, completion, and transition to employment.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience working in enrollment management within a post-secondary institution.
  • Experience with other software products, including Microsoft Office products for use in data analysis, customized report generation, presentations, and project management.
  • Self-motivated and highly organized, with a strong attention to detail.
  • Strong listening, speaking and writing skills.
  • Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with College personnel and students in a multi-cultural environment.
  • Innovative, strategic thinker, with the ability to respond positively and creatively to change.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Two (2) or more years of experience working with diverse and economically disadvantaged populations in a community college setting.

    • Writing Skills: Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
    • Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations.
    • Communication Skills: Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from prospective and current employees, and groups of managers.
    • Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
    • Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

    • Office Environment: This role may involve being in a stationary position in front of a computer, using a keyboard, mouse (or applicable equipment) and telephone. Communicating and exchanging information with individuals electronically or in person. This role may involve moving objects of up to 10 lbs., and on occasion, up to 25 lbs.
    • Noise Level: The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Salary
Pay range is $19.92-$31.13.13 per hour
