Adjunct Instructor - Graduate Business

Job Description


Facilitate the teaching and learning of graduate Business courses to adult students in the William R. Kellett School. This posting is to fill class needs in the Fall, 2023 term and beyond.

Multiple instructors may be hired, depending on specialty areas.


Classes are held in the evenings at the main campus of Lakeland University.

Classes are typically on weekday evenings from 6-9 pm.


Examples of Different Course titles are below:

  • BA 715 - Applied Economic Theory

  • BA 720 - Applied Managerial Accounting

  • BA 730 - Organizational Effectiveness

  • BA 745 - Cultural Understanding and International Business

  • BA 750 - Applied Marketing Management

  • BA 765 - Financial Decision Making

  • BA 770 - Legal and Regulatory Environments of Business

  • BA 775 - Human Resource Management

  • BA 780 - Managerial Finance


Successful candidates must hold a doctorate in Business or a relevant field. Minimum qualifications must be met for consideration.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Be available to teach in person in Plymouth, WI.

  • Teach graduate courses in business.

  • Work with full-time faculty and deans to understand and employ activities that meet course learning objectives.

  • Administer and/or develop coursework (assignments, projects, in-class learning activities, exams) that meets and assesses course learning objectives.

  • Respond in a timely manner to calls or emails from students, colleagues, or supervisors.

  • Use university technology as directed.


SPECIALIZED KNOW-HOW & SKILLS

  • A doctorate in business or a related field required for Higher Learning Commission qualification purposes.


PREFERRED KNOW-HOW & SKILLS

  • Relevant work experience in an industry related to the academic subject matter preferred.

  • Some teaching experience preferred but not necessarily required for the right candidate.

  • Comfortable teaching in face to face, online, and blended modes of instructional delivery.

  • Familiarity with the Blackboard learning management system.

  • Demonstrated teaching experience at the undergraduate level and/or graduate level.
