The Energy Resource Center is a Colorado Nonprofit organized on October 29, 1979, pursuant to Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 and the Colorado Non-Profit Act. The Energy Resource Center is headquartered, with a regional office, in Colorado Springs, Colorado. The Energy Resource Center has four other offices in Alamosa, Denver, Loveland, and Sterling, Colorado. All five offices serve valued clients in those cities and the surrounding areas.

The Energy Resource Center is governed by a Board of Directors who now seeks a qualified Chief Executive Officer able to begin services on or about March 1, 2024. This position is an exempt position and will serve at-will to the Board of Directors. The Chief Executive Officer is delegated general authority by the Board of Directors to manage the day-to-day operations of the Energy Resource Center, subject to the Board of Directors who retain ultimate responsibility for all activities of the Energy Resource Center.

Requirements

All applicants must be willing to work, diligently and strategically, to retain existing sources of revenue to the Energy Resource Center. In addition, the applicant must work to supervise and retain all highly valued and skilled employees of the Energy Resource Center. The applicant must be able to work with all relevant laws and regulations, including federal LEAP and DOE regulations and State requirements. The applicant must comply with all obligations required by funding sources with transparent accountability. The applicant must be able to develop and implement budgets approved by the Board of Directors. The applicant must also be able to effectively work with other human service agencies, the general public, the media, legislative bodies, and valuable clients. Applicants must be willing to undergo criminal background checks, driving record and credit checks on their background before hire and at any other time during employment as requested by the Board of Directors.

Responsibilities

At a minimum, the successful applicant must understand and be able to:

• Carry out all objectives of the Board of Directors, to include proper personnel policies and efficient operational procedures;
• Ensure that financial planning and operational controls are in place to maintain a fiscally sound organization;
• Prepare financial reports for the Board of Directors;
• Engage in significant fund raising for the benefit of the Energy Resource Center;
• Resolve difficult interpersonal issues involving clients or others;
• Review completed client files for completeness, accuracy, and regulatory compliance;
• Prepare and adjust, as needed, budgets that must be approved by the Board of Directors;
• Periodically report to the Board of Directors regarding assessment of programs, services and products of the Energy Resource Center and their impact on strategic goals and objectives; and
• Carry out all other responsibilities as required by the Board of Directors to effectively provide services for the well-being of our valued clients.

Qualifications

The Board of Directors of the Energy Resource Center prefers, at a minimum, that applicants bring critical thinking skills, full computer skills, a college degree in business management or other relevant course of study, and at least eight years in management of a community service agency or business somewhat related to weatherization services provided by the Energy Resource Center. The Board of Directors retains the right to consider any equivalent combination of education and experience necessary for this job.

Pay: $162,266.00 - $198,935.00 per year
