Position description

A position for an Assistant Project Scientist is available in the UCLA Center for Cannabis and Cannabinoids. The candidate will develop and conduct innovative and independent research on neurocognitive processes relevant to substance use disorders (SUD), and whether they are modulated by acute and chronic exposure to drugs that are misused, including cannabis and cocaine, and emerging psychedelics, including psilocybin. The candidate will leverage established and novel neuroimaging technologies including concurrent EEG-fMRI and mobile EEG toward testing innovative methodological techniques in these research areas and will perform all required research related activities with IRB and regulatory affairs as well as oversee data entry and participant recruitment and enrollment. The applicant will participate in the scientific and research training activities of the UCLA Department of Psychiatry and Biobehavioral Sciences and Jane and Terry Semel Institute for Neuroscience and Human Behavior and the UCLA Center for Cannabis and Cannabinoids.
Candidates must possess a Ph.D. or M.D./Ph.D in neuroscience, psychology, pharmacology, or other relevant fields; and qualify for a junior-level project scientist appointment at UCLA. An established record of publication and demonstrated ability to oversee regulatory aspects of a clinical trial is required. Evidence of leadership ability and postdoctoral training will be considered as added qualifications. The posted UC salary scale https://www.ucop.edu/academic-personnel-programs/compensation/index.html set the minimum pay determed by rank and step at appointment. See Table 13-B. The salary range for this position is $71,500-82,900 annually.
