Summary

Baylor College of Medicine is recruiting a full-time Perinatal Psychologist to join the Division of Pediatric Psychology at CHRISTUS Children's in San Antonio. The psychologist will also receive an academic appointment in the Department of Pediatrics at Baylor College of Medicine (BCM).


Job Duties
  • Provide evidence-based outpatient integrated behavioral health services to women and partners in the Maternal-Fetal Medicine Clinic during pregnancy and postpartum period.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary teams working with families expecting fetuses with congenital anomalies and preparing for surgery after delivery.
  • Provide inpatient consultations/interventions to labor and delivery units as needed.
  • Work collaboratively with OB/MFM, Psychiatry, and Social Work to establish treatment plans during perinatal and postnatal periods.
  • Supervise pediatric and psychiatry residents and psychology fellows and interns.

 

 

The position is 100% clinical, but allows ample time for research, teaching, and program development. Providers receive support for continuing education and professional development.


Minimum Qualifications
  • Doctoral Degree (Ph.D. or Psy.D.) in Clinical or Counseling Psychology at APA-accredited programs.
  • Completed an APA-accredited psychology internship.
  • At least one year of relevant clinical experience in perinatal mental health or women's health (a formal postdoctoral fellowship is preferred).
  • Licensed or license-eligible in Texas.
  • Spanish-speaker is strongly preferred, although not required.
