What We Want
The Postdoctoral Research Associate will work on an NIH funded project to investigate the mechanisms of circadian clock control of mRNA translation and translation fidelity, or work on the development of circadian-based treatments for jet-lag, aging, and aging-associated disease. Primary duties for this position will include researching, documenting, training students, presenting findings, and maintaining the laboratory. Salary: Compensation will be commensurate based on the selected candidate’s education and experience.
Required Education and Experience:

Appropriate PhD.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Ability to work collaboratively and maintain a safe and supportive lab environment

Excellent written and oral communication skills
Preferred Education and Experience:
-
Experience in molecular biology techniques
-
PhD in Biology, Microbiology, Molecular Biology or related fields
-
Recent PhD graduates with experience in molecular biology, genetics, biochemistry, translation control mechanisms, and/or circadian biology
Responsibilities:
-
Research: Conducts experiments. Keeps accurate notes of experiments and results.

Documentation: Prepares figures. Writes and edits manuscripts.

Training: Participates in training of graduate and undergraduate students in the lab.

Presentations: Presents research in lab meetings, journal clubs, and national and international meetings.

Lab Duties: Maintains a safe working environment. Assists with maintaining equipment and a BSL1 laboratory and performs other duties as assigned.
