Position Announcement: Paramedic Program Director

Northeastern Junior College is seeking an enthusiastic and self-motivated individual to fill the position of Paramedic Program Director. This position is responsible for all aspects of the paramedic program. The position manages the medical director, lead instructor and other instructors to deliver a paramedic program which qualifies students for certification as a paramedic and meets all accreditation standards from the Committee on Accreditation of Educational Programs for the Emergency Medical Services Professions and the Emergency Medical Services Professions Essentials/Standards. The Paramedic Program Director participates in recruiting students to the program, liaisons with first responders in the region, and assists in job placement for graduates. The Paramedic Director teaches assigned classes in accordance with established guidelines and policies, and supports committee assignments and other academic and institutional support activities and supervisory responsibilities as assigned.

Required Qualifications (As set by accreditation standards):

  • A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university, preferably in the fields of health, EMS or education.
  • Documented education or experience in instructional methodology
  • Academic training and experience equivalent to that of a paramedic
  • Experience in the delivery of pre-hospital emergency care
  • Knowledge of the current versions of the National EMS Scope of Practice and National EMS Standards, and about evidence-informed clinical practice.
  • Current Colorado Paramedic Certification

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree
  • College degree in a health-related profession, EMS, or education

Contract Specifics:

This is a full-time professional appointment. Annual salary is $65,000-$75,000 depending on qualifications and experience. Competitive fringe benefit package available through the State Board for Community Colleges and Occupational Education (SBCCOE). Position to begin as soon as qualified candidate is identified.
