Summary
The University of Michigan-Flint is seeking a Research Assistant 1 (Temporary) to work directly with a faculty member in the Social Work Department.
The Research Assistant will assist in a NIH funded project examining the associations between parental violence and child socioemotional development using data from United Nations International Children's Emergency Fund (UNICEF) and the World Health Organization (WHO).
This position is from September 2023 through April 2024 for approximately 6 hours per week.
Responsibilities*
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Literature reviews
- Downloading and merging data
- Data cleaning
- Data analysis, interpretation and report writing
- Dissemination of findings
Required Qualifications*
- Current undergraduate student in good standing with the University of Michigan-Flint
- Successful completion of one undergraduate statistics course
- Familiarity with statistical software: SPSS, Stata, R, etc.
- Available at least 6 hours per week for the duration of the project

- Ability to pay attention to details
- Prior experience working in a research team
- Must have the ability to work independently on projects
- Demonstrate the ability to respect confidentiality
