CLASS DESCRIPTION:

The purpose of this class is to work with male students of color to enrich the Male Student Success Initiative experience by developing, marketing, and implementing program events, workshops, experiential learning and other high-impact activities. This is a grant funded and contract funded position.
Compensation within the posted range is determined by a candidate's education level and/or years of experience in the field.  Generally, employees are hired in the lower third of the scale

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor's degree in Humanities, Social Sciences or a related field. Two years of experience working with diverse students in a supportive capacity. Experience with data collection and tracking. Experience in social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat, etc.)  Prior experience working with underserved populations preferred. Must have a valid driver's license in good standing with violation points less than five (5).

CLASS SPECIFIC ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

1. Coordinate a functional process within assigned College department or division.
2. Monitor compliance with policies and procedures.
3. Maintain department records and files, as required.
4. Manage program expenses efficiently and economically.
5. Represent the College and/or department at events, as required.

POSITION SPECIFIC ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

1. Act as the liaison and coordinates the Male Student Success Initiative (MSSI)
2. Communicates regularly and effectively with the MSSI Success Mentors, Student Development staff, and Office of Instruction staff
3. Plan and implement annual and semester-long MSSI programs and activities
4. Supervise part-time MSSI Success Mentors and Project Recruiters
5. Work with and mentor MSSI students for leadership development opportunities.
6. Deepen student engagement through high impact practices and enrichment activities.
7. Design and maintain a social media presence for MSSI.
8. Facilitate and attend meetings, as required.
9. Author and submit: Annual MSSI Program Report and Progress Report data.
10. Develop and maintain partnerships with all relevant stakeholders.
11. Work with and support PRE department with data collection efforts and outcomes.
12. Collaborate with College Communications to produce both marketing materials.
