Job Summary

The Biology Department is looking a motivated, detail-oriented individual to assist in the planning and preparation for hosting the he Human Anatomy and Physiology Society, regional annual meeting in the spring of 2021. The primary duties will involve general secretarial duties such as handling and sending emails, telephone conversations, scheduling meetings and other event planning activities.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties

(WORK STUDY ONLY) Applicants will need to perform secretarial duties that could include: sending emails, creating forms, alphabetizing files, telephone communications, taking messages, scheduling meetings and other event planning activities. Primary duties will be supporting Biology Faculty plan for a regional HAPS conference. Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel is necessary.

Minimum Qualifications

SLCC Student and eligible for Work Study.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

1. Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills.
2. Good computer skills (email, Excel, Word etc.).
3. Ability to work with all groups in a diverse academic setting.
4. Ability to meet deadlines.
5. Demonstrated good word ethic.

Special Instructions

10 hours a week – Flexible schedule.

Work-study is awarded to SLCC students through the Federal College Work-Study program, which requires establishing financial need through the FAFSA application from the Financial Aid Office. If you do not have work-study awarded to you, you will not be eligible for work under work-study positions.
