Job Description

The University of Tulsa’s Collins College of Business has an opening for a full-time, tenure-track faculty position in Business Analytics – rank commensurate with experience – starting August 2024. The faculty member we are seeking will have the skill sets to teach in the College’s undergraduate and graduate Business Analytics and MBA programs and engage in quality scholarly research. Salary and teaching load are commensurate with education and experience and are competitive with AACSB-accredited research institutions. The title of the position is flexible according to the candidate’s qualifications.

Duties
The successful applicant will have the skills to contribute to the department’s teaching needs in the areas of business analytics and statistics in the College’s undergraduate, MBA, and Master of Science in Business Analytics (MSBA) programs. The applicant must maintain active and productive research in the expanding field of Business Analytics, broadly defined, and engage in appropriate professional and service activities.

Qualifications
Candidates who possess a Ph.D. degree in an analytic discipline (Analytics, Data Science, Statistics, Information Systems, Management Science, or Operations Management) are invited to apply. Although ABD’s close to completion will be considered for the position, provided they will complete their degree prior to the position start date in August 2024, preference will be given to candidates who have completed their doctorate. Candidates with strong evidence of scholarship in Artificial Intelligence / Machine Learning or other emerging topics in analytics are encouraged to apply.

The successful candidate will be expected to engage in high-quality, innovative, and as appropriate, externally funded research, and to deliver high-quality effective teaching. Preference is for candidates with Ph.D.’s with a demonstrated and ongoing record of impactful research in Business Analytics, broadly defined, who have strong industry engagement, and proven ability to link theory and practice in their area(s) of expertise. Experience in outreach in the professional data science industry, and/or prior professional experience in data science is desirable.

The College, University, and Local Community
The Collins College of Business is accredited by AACSB International, which maintains the highest standards for business schools in the world, and has been named one of the top undergraduate business schools by Bloomberg Businessweek and Princeton Review. Home to approximately 500 undergraduate business students and 200 graduate business students, the College has four academic units and approximately 35 full-time business faculty positions. Degree offerings include Master of Science in Business Analytics (MSBA), Master of Business Administration (MBA), Master of Accounting (MAcc), online Master of Energy Business (MEB), and the BS in Business Administration (BSBA).
