Job Description:

The Department of Applied Physiology and Kinesiology at the University of Florida (UF) invites applications for a tenure track faculty position in Physiology, at the Assistant Professor level. Applicants should be able to contribute to academic area of physiology. We have a preference for candidates with expertise in skeletal muscle and/or cardiovascular physiology. Candidates must possess an earned doctorate in physiology, biophysics, exercise physiology/kinesiology, engineering, or a related field, and postdoctoral training is strongly preferred. The successful candidate must have a promising or distinguished record of scholarly accomplishments, success or promise in obtaining extramural funding for research, and promise for teaching excellence. Applicants should also have strong communication skills along with a commitment to integrity, academic excellence, professional service, and inclusion. The ability to contribute significantly to graduate education and the mentoring of graduate students is expected.

Gainesville has an excellent school system, with a number of public schools ranked highly in the state and nation.

Advertised Salary:

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.  

Minimum Requirements:

Candidates must possess an earned doctorate in physiology, biophysics, exercise physiology/kinesiology, engineering, or a related field.

Postdoctoral training is strongly preferred. The successful candidate must have a promising or distinguished record of scholarly accomplishments, have a promising or distinguished record of scholarly accomplishments, success or promise in obtaining extramural funding for research, and promise for teaching excellence. Special Instructions to Applicants:

This is a 9-month (1.0 FTE) tenure-accruing position. UF has a competitive benefits package, and department faculty are eligible for summer salary. We will begin evaluation of candidates October 15, 2023, but will accept applications until the position is filled.
