Job Summary

Reporting to the Divisional Dean the Director of Workforce Programs is responsible for establishing and maintaining adequate systems to ensure effective operation and compliance of workforce programs located at various locations of Tarrant County College with a primary base at the Opportunity Center.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Essential Performance Requirements*
  • Develops and implements strategies to ensure continuing accreditation of division programs in collaboration with Academic Deans
  • Coordinates and schedules all workforce class offerings at the TCC Opportunity Center
  • Participates in Curriculum and Instruction processes to revise program offerings and curricular change
  • Develops and implement strategies to ensure success of Skills Development Fund Grants among all stakeholders
  • Facilitates the Skills Development Fund grant process and serves as a liaison between college personnel and Texas Workforce Commission staff
  • Coordinates and schedules facility usage and courses/programming at the TCC Opportunity Center in collaboration with TCC administration
  • Oversees the compliance and reporting for Skills Development Fund grant
  • Fosters liaisons with advisory partners, playing an active role in securing internship agreements and sites for student training
  • Evaluates instructional effectiveness and student progress
General Supervision and Management
  • Provides division support for program and support staff at the Opportunity Center
  • In Collaboration with Academic Deans recommends full-time and part-time faculty appointments and teaching assignments for TCC Opportunity Center offerings 

Service Excellence
  • Participates and maintains memberships on behalf of the College in external community organizations and associations as assigned to support the essential performance requirements
  • Attends the workplace regularly, reports to work punctually, and follows a work schedule to keep up with the demands of the worksite
  • Completes all required training and professional development sessions sponsored through Tarrant County College (TCC)
  • Supports the values of the College: diversity, teaching excellence, student success, innovation, and creativity and service to the College
  • Supports the mission, values and 3 goals and 8 principles of the College
Supervision
Works under the general supervision of the Divisional Dean

Required Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree from a regionally accredited institution
  • Three (3) years’ working experience related to the Essential Performance Requirements
  • Two (2) years of supervising employees (e.g., managing and evaluation performance of others)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree from a regionally accredited institution
  • Experience working in a career and technical education program, teaching in higher education, or working experience with dual credit programs
  • Prior experience or certifications with any of the Tarrant County College workforce programs
  • Experience working with employment offices or workforce placement
  • Experience working with or managing Skills Development Fund grants
  • Bilingual English/Spanish verbal and written fluency

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Skilled in oral and written communications
  • Skilled in excellent customer service and interpersonal skills with diverse populations
  • Skilled using applications and enterprise systems, including word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment and a setting that is diverse and urban
  • Ability to think critically to effectively solve and communicate problems in a fast-paced environment where the demands for work are varied, and unpredictable in scope and volume
  • Ability to analyze data and provide sound recommendations based on policy, procedure, practice, and existing regulations
  • Ability to delegate work appropriately to faculty and staff to meet College and campus deliverables
