POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT

Project Coordinator

Salary Grade 18: $60,011 - $68,534

The Research Foundation for Mental Hygiene, Inc. is seeking two (2) qualified candidates to fill the position of Project Coordinators to assist the Division of Prevention Services (DPS) at the New York State Office of Addiction Services and Supports (OASAS) in its administration of substance abuse prevention projects. The candidates selected will work on prevention projects in collaboration with the OASAS (DPS) and will coordinate substance use prevention initiatives and support data-driven decision-making efforts.

 

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

The candidates selected will work on prevention projects in collaboration with the OASAS Team to develop the infrastructure to care for the prevention needs of individuals, families, and communities that are at risk for substance use/misuse.

 

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Work under the leadership of the DPS in day-to-day coordination of prevention activities to ensure program fidelity and successful completion of project goals;
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for funded sub-recipients;
  • Assist with the implementation of prevention strategies and programs;
  • Assist with the implementation of prevention workforce initiatives;
  • Coordinate the receipt of reports in a timely fashion from sub-recipients;
  • Assist with the preparation of reports regarding project outcomes;
  • The Project Coordinators position may require regular travel to the locations in which grant activities are occurring;
  • Successful completion of other duties as assigned.


Minimum Qualifications:

A Bachelor's degree is required with a minimum of 2 years of professional experience in a substance use disorder (SUD), health, or mental health field, or a Master's degree with one (1) year of professional experience, or Ph.D. may substitute for two (2) years of professional experience.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

Preference will be given to candidates with a degree in public health, public administration, sociology, psychology or related field. Demonstrated experience implementing prevention projects specific to substance use/misuse, mental health, or projects of similar size and complexity is desirable, including examples of projects and references who can speak to the success of those projects. Experience working in culturally diverse communities is an asset. Candidates should have strong writing, and oral communication skills; ability to work collaboratively with a variety of stakeholders; and ability to work independently and as part of a team. Candidates must possess a valid license to operate a motor vehicle in New York State at the time of appointment and continuously thereafter.

Salary: Commensurate with experience
