Position Summary
The Maness lab seeks to define the molecular mechanisms that govern development of connectivity in the mammalian brain. This position will study the role of a high confidence autism gene Ankyrin 2 in brain development. They will use site directed mutagenesis to analyze human mutations in neural synapse development regulating in mouse models of autism.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Ph.D. in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Biophysics or a related field of study.
Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
Specific techniques of making mouse cortical neuron cell cultures, DNA preparation and transfer ion will be required in these studies.
