| Position Summary | The Maness lab seeks to define the molecular mechanisms that govern development of connectivity in the mammalian brain. This position will study the role of a high confidence autism gene Ankyrin 2 in brain development. They will use site directed mutagenesis to analyze human mutations in neural synapse development regulating in mouse models of autism. |
| Minimum Education and Experience Requirements | Ph.D. in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Biophysics or a related field of study. |
| Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience | Specific techniques of making mouse cortical neuron cell cultures, DNA preparation and transfer ion will be required in these studies. |
