Development Associate, Corporate and Foundation Relations

Washington, DC

The Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, a renowned international affairs think tank, is seeking a Development Associate to support fundraising from foundations and corporations for its headquarters in Washington, DC and global centers in five other countries.

The Associate will work directly with Carnegie scholars, donors and prospects as part of a Development team based in DC, and in coordination with offices in Beijing, Beirut, Brussels, Moscow and New Delhi. Responsibilities include growing a Corporate Circle membership program; identifying and qualifying new prospective corporate and foundation funders; streamlining donor stewardship and cultivation activities; managing donor and scholar events and meetings; producing donor reports; ensuring implementation plans are followed through; and preparing donor communications.

Successful candidates will possess four to five years of relevant fundraising experience, specifically in foundation and corporate relations, and preferably demonstrated experience with corporate membership programs. The ideal candidate is goal-oriented, has meticulous attention to detail, is driven to execute plans, possesses superb written and oral communications skills, can manage multiple tasks simultaneously and independently, works well in a dynamic environment, and is experienced in organizing small private events and meetings for executives.
