  • POSITION TITLE: Information Technology Faculty (full-time, salaried, exempt)
  • PRIMARY WORK LOCATION: Santee Campus, Macy Campus, or South Sioux City Campus
  • STARTING SALARY: $52,000-$55,000 + Benefits Annually

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Master’s Degree with at least 18 graduate credits in Educational Technology, Instructional Design, Computer Science, or related field. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications. Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • College teaching experience is preferred as well as a familiarity with the use of technology (online learning management systems,
  • video conferencing, etc.).
  • The candidate must be able to show evidence of effective leadership and a background of proven success in working with students, administrators, faculty, and communities.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, COMPETENCIES, and ABILITIES:
Preferred candidates will have proven success in the following:
  • Doctorate degree in Educational Technology, Instructional Design, Computer Science, or related field
  • Minimum of two (2) years instructional experience, preferably in a tribal or community college setting
  • Curriculum design on an online learning management system
  • Web design experience
  • Experience instructing students from minoritized backgrounds, using technology in the classroom and/or for distance learning, and traditional/nontraditional methods of instruction
  • Candidate should have a high degree of self-direction and motivation, strong inter-personal, written, and oral communication skills.

  • reasonable accommodations.
SUMMARY OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Full-time faculty have a 12-month contract with a minimum of forty hours per week.
  • This includes activities in three general areas: service (50%), teaching (40%), and research (10%). Courses may include: Online Teaching Certificate I, Online Teaching Certificate II, Management Information Systems (MIS), and other courses
  • in technology.
  • Teaching schedule may include assignments online, on other campuses, day and evening classes. Candidate will incorporate research-based best practices of online instruction while facilitating learning for faculty and students.
  • Candidate will also provide workshops for NICC faculty and staff on how to use new technologies.
