Teaching Entry-Level Program
Organize, coordinate and incorporate a PTA curriculum within the college.
Aid in the development of significant new and current clinical affiliations for clinical education of the students engaged in the study of PTA at Del Mar College.
Make the necessary changes in program requirement and curriculum to reflect the changes that occur in the practice of physical therapy.
Develop lesson plans, select audiovisual materials and textbooks and design methods of evaluation for all courses of the program.
Plan, in advance, needed supplies, textbooks, and classroom equipment required for the successful teaching of all courses of the program.
Meet all classes promptly unless advance arrangements are made with the Department Chairperson.
Keep accurate record and submit all reports as required by the institution.
Evaluate students periodically and give final examinations as scheduled by the college.
Observe and attend to bulletins, announcements and regulations as issued by the administration.
Secure authorization for instructional trips.
Prepare students who are eligible to take the licensure examination.
Visit the clinical education centers on a regular basis.
Communicate with clinical instructors to facilitate appropriate student clinical education.
Participate in activities designed to market the program to interested and potential applicants.
Maintain and update teaching physical therapy skills through continuing education and professional development activities.
Communicate with other divisions and departments of the institution for efficient and accurate student access of campus resources.
Work directly with the Departmental Chairperson of Allied Health relative to each of the above.
