The Cultural Translation Program Manager develops and maintains culturally sensitive translation programs to expand and enhance the family experience for the Spanish speaking population. Combines education, capacity-building, and advocacy to strengthen the support system and continuum of health care services for children and their families. The Program Manager will serve as the primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders on projects, expansion, and process improvement efforts. Responsible for guiding internal and external clients and management in the development of project work that addresses the strategic priorities of the organization. Provides leadership for multiple projects, including project scoping and planning, analysis and issue resolution, and deliverable development and presentations.

Must perform all duties and responsibilities in accordance with the hospital's policies and procedures, including its Service Standards and its Code of Conduct.

  • Collaborates with LPCHS/SHC leaders and other community service organizations to develop and implement culturally sensitive services to non-English speaking patients and families.

  • Coordinates, implements, and executes projects ensuring consistency with organizational strategy, commitments and goals. Facilitates the definition of program scope, goals, deliverables, and resource requirements.

  • Develops, creates, and maintains policies and procedures for translation of patient education materials, both clinical and non-clinical, ensuring consistent culturally-accurate translations.

  • Recommend policies and operating procedures to ensure positive hospital-patient relations; develop new programs and services as appropriate; evaluate existing services to ensure efficiency, quality and effectiveness of operations.

  • Oversees the services provided by Spanish Language Parent Mentors. Leads the team in best practices including creating policies and procedures as appropriate to ensure communication of any new changes to the department.

  • Partners with department leaders to create specific Spanish language services and initiatives. Provides education to staff on culturally sensitivity.

  • Partner with other departments, initiatives, leaders at Stanford Children's who are working to create specialized services for Spanish language patients and families

  • Oversees the schedule and interactions of Spanish Language Parent Mentors

Minimum Qualifications

Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities as well as possession of any required licenses or certifications is qualifying.

Education: Bachelor's degree in a work-related discipline/field from an accredited college or university

Experience: Three (3) years of progressively responsible and directly related work experience

License/Certification: None Required

  • Demonstrated attention to detail and customer service orientation, with ability to be flexible in responding to customer needs

  • Ability to utilize Microsoft programs

Pay Range

Compensation is based on the level and requirements of the role.

Salary within our ranges may also be determined by your education, experience, knowledge, skills, location, and abilities, as required by the role, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.

Typically, new team members join at the minimum to mid salary range.

Minimum to Midpoint Range (1.0 FTE): $82,118.40 to $108,919.20
