Reporting to and working closely with the Director of Family Services, the Community Engagement & Education Coordinator is responsible for engagement with Habitat Applicants, Partner Families, Homeowners, and other interested parties to ensure the Habitat mission and services are represented to the community. Part of this position will include public presentations, training, homeowner engagement, programming and facilitation. The coordinator will serve as the community living (HOA and Neighborhood Association) liaison and manage all communications for the Family Services Department, which includes quarterly and monthly newsletter updates.

The Community Engagement & Education Coordinator will be responsible for receiving their HUD Counselor Certification and be responsible for overseeing all facets of the Habitat HOA and Neighborhood Association as well as homeowner development and education programming including Homebuyer Readiness, Financial and Homeownership Success Education, Youth Empowerment Program, and Post-Closing Education. Which include both adult & youth workshops consisting of curriculum execution, develop pre/pos-test measurable outcomes tools, maintain and develop an ongoing relationship with community partners. Pre and Post ownership surveys are required to support grants and an understanding of the impact of homeownership on our served population.

The ideal candidate is a high performing and motivated individual who has a passion for mentorship, education, comfortable interacting with the community, providing public presentations, is highly organized with a high degree of attention to detail and recordkeeping. The need for advanced emotional intelligence and ability to present information in a clear and concise manner, both written and verbal. The Education Coordinator must be a dynamic, creative thinker, with knowledge and experience in engaging, empowering, and educating highly motivated groups of individuals looking to make their dream of first-time homeownership a reality.

Qualifications:
A bachelor’s degree in education, communications, human services, or related field and/or 5+ years’ work experience in the Affordable Housing field. Must include constituent training and design/development of curriculum and syllabuses of relevant subject matter, including life skills and/or financial literacy. Experience with HOA, Neighborhood Association development/management.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
The Community Engagement & Education Coordinator must have proficient technology skills and be comfortable with working various online platforms. Possess exceptional organizational and file management. Demonstrate an ability to work with diverse populations and be at ease with large and small groups. Public speaking and a communication style that engages with others in a clear, professional manner is essential. Finally, The Community Engagement & Education Coordinator should demonstrate an ability to receive and follow instructions and work as a member of a team.
Job Conditions:
Position is full-time, Monday through Friday with some evening and weekend work necessary and required. This is an exempt salary position.

Specific Responsibilities:
Provide oversight and direction to the design, management, and implementation of the Homeowner Education program and Youth Empowerment Program.
Build upon/out the education program curriculum infrastructure
Homeowner readiness (pre-homebuyer education)
Homeownership Program workshops for both adult (future homeowner) and youth (Youth Empowerment Program).
Post-closing education and homeowner success
Prepare monthly staff report to be provided to the Director of Family Services
Lead on the development of all community living framework for existing and developing Habitat communities.
Providing oversight for all homeowner post-closing support including following up with service/warranty request and homeowner satisfaction survey administration, and homeowner database management & tracking
Engagement current and future homeowners in the creation of and successful implementation of Neighborhood Associations
Designing community guidelines and policies (HOA communities)
Supervise department Youth Empowerment Program Coordinator (Intern)
Obtain and keep HUD certification as a Housing Counselor.
Lead outreach coordinator.
In addition, other duties as assigned by the Director of Family Services.
