This is one position that can be based in one of three areas: Houston, TX; Tampa, FL; Lakeland, FL. Travel between the three spaces will be required.

 

JOB SUMMARY
  • The Executive Director of Family Support is responsible for overseeing the administration and implementation of the Family Support services program by securing necessary funding streams needs or other financial resources for expansion and sustainability to include contracts, partners, memorandum of understandings (MOUs) and other tangible and intangible resources. The Executive Director of Family Support will devise and lead strategic plans in collaboration with key Executive Staff and will ensure all guidelines and operations are adhered to and implemented consistently among Family Support services programs as appropriate. Other key duties include responsibility for the development and oversight of program to include its budget and provide direct oversight of Family Support program and personnel.
 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND FUNCTIONS
  • Cultivate, establish, and maintain relationships with various organizations, entities, agencies, and other partnerships throughout the state and utilize those relationships to strategically enhance the goals of the Family Support services program.
  • Identify and cultivate alliances to secure financial and nonfinancial resources to expand and sustain the Family Support program e.g., obtain and manage partnership for services, MOUs, contracts, and any other resources and to include vetting of any distribution partnerships.
  • Provide fiscal management of the Family Support program including budget preparation, decision making, data and metrics and other reporting.
  • Work closely with other professional, civic and private organizations for enhancement of the Family Support Services program to further its mission and goals to include both tangible and intangible services for clients, the community and the organization.
  • Implement strategic goals specific to Family Support services and lead and motivate staff towards achievement of agency and program goals, e.g., expansion efforts, etc.
  • Oversee and implement appropriate resources to ensure the operation management of the Family Support program are appropriate and successful e.g. effective supervision of key staff, hiring and retention of competent qualified staff.
  • Ensure the volunteer program within the Family Support program operates effectively to exceed agency goals and delight volunteers and our customers.
  • Ensure all operational guidelines are adhered to and implemented consistently among all locations of services.
  • Provide ongoing program assessment and evaluation of best practices and implement appropriate programmatic changes based on current needs within the program in collaboration with the Vice President of Programs.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
 

  • Master’s Degree is preferred in Non-Profit Management, Human Services, Organizational Leadership, Business Administration or its equivalent.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing programs and people in a non-profit environment (5 years’ experience preferred but not required).
 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND OTHER CHARACTERISTICS
 

  • Knowledge of fundraising strategies and donor relations unique to the nonprofit sector and Family Support Services program
  • Ability to develop partnerships/network and engage in positive relationships with the community
  • Strong motivational and staff leadership abilities
  • Has a conviction that people have the capacity to grow and change
  • Experience in change leadership and change management
  • Commitment to results: “can-do” mindset with emphasis on accountability
  • Possesses sensitivity to the cultural differences that are present among the organization’s service population and staff
  • Has an ability to work in partnership with other members in a team approach
  • Demonstrate excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to solve complex, practical problems and effectively deal with complex variables in situations where limited standardization exists
  • Availability to work flexible hours and days based on needs of the position

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee is occasionally required to walk and reach with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
 

This job requires the ability to work in stressful conditions from time to time and remain focused for extended periods of time. Ability to lift up to 30 pounds (boxes, documents, and equipment).
