Summary

The Division of Electrical and Computer Engineering is seeking a highly responsible, self-motivated, detail-oriented individual to fill the position of Lead Research Administrator. The successful candidate will manage pre and post award activities.

Responsibilities*

Reporting to the Research Manager the candidate will manage the following:

  • FINANCIALS: Financial reconciliation and financial monitoring
  • RESEARCH ADMINISTRATION: Pre and post award administration. Prepare and submit proposals meeting sponsor compliance and anticipating departmental needs working within prescribed parameters.
  • PURCHASING: Monitor and reconcile orders in the department purchasing system.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications*

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience 7 or more years of progressively responsible experience in related position
  • Familiarity with policies and procedures related to sponsored projects.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of compliance issues
  • Demonstrated initiative identifying and following through on important tasks Experience with a recharge unit
  • Experience with financial management and account reconciliation

Desired Qualifications*

  • Demonstrated ability to produce, explain, and use reports and spreadsheets
  • Ability to multitask and refocus after interruptions
  • Demonstrated ability to improve processes, adapt to new conditions and manage change.
  • Prior experience working with, and understanding policies and procedures of, the following federal agencies NSF, NIH, DOD, and DOE, as well as experience with corporate and industrial sponsors
  • RAIN certification or equivalent
  • Certified Research Administrator (CRA) is a plus but not required.

Underfill Statement

This position may be underfilled as a Research Administrator Senior depending on the qualifications of the selected candidate.
