Job Description

The College of Saint Rose invites applications and nominations for a Visiting Assistant Professor of Accounting in the Huether School of Business, beginning August 2023. This is a full time, one-year appointment continuing through May 2024. A Visiting Faculty member may be offered an appointment of one or more additional years after successfully teaching one academic year..

Readying students to excel in every business function in any organization, the Huether School of Business offers programs in a wide range of disciplines, from financial planning and accounting, to business analytics and marketing. Offering undergraduate degrees, Masters of Business Administration, and the Masters of Science in Accounting, the Huether School is accredited by Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP).

Responsibilities will include teaching 12 credits (3-4 courses) per semester in accounting. The courses may include:

ACC 121: Principles of Financial Accounting

ACC 122: Principles of Managerial Accounting

ACC 221: Intermediate Accounting 1

ACC 322: Intermediate Accounting 2

ACC 323: Financial Accounting Theory Advanced Applications

ACC 421: Financial Auditing

ACC 570: Advanced Theory Financial Accounting

Appropriately qualified candidates will also teach accounting specialization courses which may include cost accounting, fraud, forensic accounting, and governmental accounting.

Additional responsibilities include the maintenance of office hours, preparation of course syllabi consistent with College and School policies, and engaging within the School regarding curriculum, teaching expectations, assessment, grading and related matters to courses taught.

 


Job Requirements:


The successful candidate will have a MS from an accredited institution in Accounting, or a closely related academic field, and CPA at the time of appointment on or about August 1, 2023.

Additional requirements include a minimum of five years of experience in a CPA position, teaching or training experience in accounting, a demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching, and superior written and oral communication skills.

The College retains the right to make decisions about visa sponsorship that support the College's business and academic needs, including providing visa sponsorship for only certain academic titles. Visa sponsorships are based solely on the needs of the College and at the sole discretion of the College.
