The College of Liberal Arts & Sciences invites applications for the position of dean. The College is Eastern Illinois University’s largest and most diverse academic unit and central to the undergraduate experience for every enrolled student. The Dean will lead a dynamic, engaged academic college and faculty committed to excellence. The College is comprised of two schools (Communication & Journalism and the Arts) and sixteen academic departments across the arts, sciences, humanities, and social-behavioral disciplines. The Dean will also provide leadership for associated units including the Tarble Arts Center and the Doudna Fine Arts Center.
The successful candidate for this position will have:
A terminal degree with a record of teaching, research, and service appropriate for a tenured faculty appointment in the College
At least three years prior administrative experience as a chairperson, dean or equivalent
Familiarity with and commitment to accreditation
A commitment to advancing the mission of the college through fundraising and expanded external relationships with industry partners
A demonstrated commitment to diversity and advancing inclusive excellence
