Job Description


The lab employs multiple innovative technologies including high-throughput genomics, spatial transcriptomic, proteomics, and metabolomics assays to understand the metabolism of immune cells at the single cell level in the models of hematopoietic stem cell transplantation, adoptive T cell transfer, COVID-19, and autoimmune diseases Nguyen Lab.

 

Experience in animal models, flow cytometry, metabolic readouts (Seahorse and stable-isotope tracing assay), T-cell signaling, confocal microscopy, and/or bioinformatics would be essential. Prior experience in either metabolism, epigenetics, RNA-seq, sc-RNA-seq, Chip-seq, unbiased CRISPR-mediated genomic editing assay, or data processing (by R-studio or Python langue) will be favorable.


The candidates are expected to work independently including designing experiments, formulating new ideas related to the projects, executing experiments proficiently and timely and analyzing data professionally under the mentorship of Dr. Nguyen. The candidates are expected to handle multiple projects, to write scientific papers and reviews, and to present work in national and international scientific conferences. The scientists are supposed to supervise students and technicians including assay development, problem solving, interpreting results, and planning follow-up experiments.

 

Minimum Qualification:

Doctorate from an accredited institution in a relevant life science discipline. An applicant whose transcript does not indicate the doctoral degree (PhD, MD, or MD/PhD) has been conferred by their university should provide documentation from their graduate faculty that all requirements for the doctorate, including dissertation and doctoral internship, are expected to be completed before the start date. ABD's will also be considered.

 

Preferred Qualification:

Immunology background preferred. Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to work well in a collaborative research environment.
