The Department of Sociology at Princeton University is currently accepting applications for a postdoctoral research associate or more senior position focused on researching and teaching about contemporary China and India. Successful candidates should possess a Ph.D. in sociology, as well as research and teaching experience related to China and India. The fellow will be affiliated with Princeton's Paul and Marcia Wythes Center on Contemporary China and Chadha Center for Global India and will conduct research aligned with the missions of these two centers. Additionally, with the approval of the Department Chair and the Dean of the Faculty, the fellow will teach a one-semester undergraduate course. This is a one-year term position that is anticipated to commence on or about September 2023, with the potential for renewal for a second year subject to funding availability and satisfactory performance. A competitive salary will be provided. Please note that this position is subject to the University's background check policy. Applicants will be evaluated based on the significance of their proposed research and its relevance to the position's objectives, the quality of their previous research, their potential for future research on China and India, and the contributions they can make to Princeton's Sociology Department.
