Job Description: |
The Department of Environmental and Global Health at the University of Florida has an opening for a postdoctoral associate in the area of chemical measurements in wastewater. As part of the wastewater-based epidemiology (WBE) framework, this project will entail quantifying drugs in wastewater samples from a number of U.S. cities. There will be a focus on optimization and development of workflows for a number of priority (i.e. fentanyl) and emerging drug targets and novel suspect screening approaches. The project is also focused on the integration of chemical measurements with health data that is disseminated to stakeholders in real-near time. In this way, WBE can serve as an early warning system for drug consumption in defined communities which may help to refine areas for public health interventions. |
Expected Salary: |
$56,484 annually, commensurate with experience level and in accordance with current NIH postdoctoral salary guidelines. |
Minimum Requirements: |
A PhD degree in analytical chemistry, biochemistry, or a related discipline |
