Open Rank Tenure Eligible/Tenured Faculty Position in the Division of Health Services Research, Outcomes, and Policy in the Department of Radiation Oncology, Winship Cancer Institute, Emory University School of Medicine

 

The Division of Health Services Research, Outcomes, and Policy in the Department of Radiation Oncology of the Winship Cancer Institute and Emory University School of Medicine invites applications for a full-time tenure-eligible/tenured faculty position at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor level, in the broadly-defined areas of health services, outcomes, and policy with potential impact in the field of radiation oncology.  

 

Research in the Division encompasses multidisciplinary quantitative and qualitative studies to enhance and improve radiation oncology systems to operate at the highest level of quality and value to optimize patient and population outcomes.  These include but are not limited to research relevant to cancer prevention, treatment access and utilization, and cancer control in the fields of implementation science, health communication and decision-making, health disparities, operations research, health technology, symptom science, and health economics (see: https://med.emory.edu/departments/radiation-oncology/index.html ). Division faculty members participate in broader University initiatives, including the Emory Health Services Research Center and the Emory Artificial Intelligence (AI) Humanity Initiative.   Opportunities abound for synergy throughout the School of Medicine, Emory Rollins School of Public Health, Emory College of Arts & Sciences, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, American Cancer Society, Georgia Institute of Technology, Morehouse School of Medicine, and Georgia State University. Faculty members have ready access to resources within the Department, the Georgia Center for Cancer Statistics including the Georgia Comprehensive Cancer Registry, and the Emory Shared Resources (https://med.emory.edu/research/core_labs/index.html )

 

The Department of Radiation Oncology is ranked in the top 10 in the nation in NIH funding. It operates multiple clinical sites in the greater Atlanta area, including the Emory Proton Therapy Center.

 

Candidates should hold a PhD degree. Selection criteria include a track record of scientific productivity and collaboration appropriate to current rank/position, as evidenced by primary research publications, current and proposed extramural funding, synergy with current research in the Division/Department and at Emory, as well as future research vision and potential to contribute to junior faculty, graduate, postdoctoral, and resident mentorship and training. Individuals with strong methodological backgrounds will be preferred.  A competitive year-round salary and start-up package will be provided.
