Kentucky Wesleyan College, a private, liberal arts college with a long-standing reputation for quality and academic excellence, is actively seeking applications for a full-time Assistant Director of Admissions for Transfer Students. Reporting to the Vice President of Admissions and Financial Aid, the Assistant Director is responsible for recruiting and assisting transfer students to the college.

Major Responsibilities

  • Implementing a comprehensive recruitment plan in the assigned territory. Activities include high school and community college visitation, college fair participation, and personalized communication (telephone, email, text, and social media).

  • Providing potential transfer and freshman students and their parents with information about Kentucky Wesleyan in a broad, all-inclusive manner, including areas such as academic major choice, co-curricular activities, housing, financial aid and scholarship opportunities and awards, and on-campus participation in traditional events.

  • Participating in on-campus events throughout the enrollment process, including preview days, overnight events, scholarship events, registration days, and move-in day. These will include required, weekend work time.

  • Supporting and/or leading admissions office activities, recruitment, and programs related to transfer students and the transfer admissions process.

  • Establishing and maintaining working relationships with high school counselors and community college transfer coordinators in the assigned territory.

  • Utilizing the College CRM system to assist with the student enrollment process and to monitor progress on goals and objectives.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in admissions (college admissions is preferred).

  • Bachelor's degree.

  • Enthusiasm for and ability to do significant travel, up to 75% during travel periods, including multiple overnights and weekends.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

  • Experience and skill working with computers (MS Office and social media).

  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively.

  • Organizational and management ability, high energy, and creative initiative.

  • Valid driver's license and insurability under Kentucky Wesleyan insurance.
