About the Opportunity

The Juner Zhu Research Group at Northeastern University is recruiting a Postdoctoral Research Associate to work on the chemo-mechanical characterization of lithium-ion batteries. The candidate is expected to perform chemo-mechanical tests on battery electrode materials and carry out theoretical and computational work to model the tests. The candidate will lead industry-sponsored projects on battery health and management and work on other scientific research topics such as machine learning assisted modeling sponsored by federal agencies. The candidate will also be responsible for writing technical papers, research proposals, and project reports as well as supervising graduate students.

  • Have a PhD or equivalent degree by the starting date
  • Trained in mechanical engineering or chemical engineering
  • Experienced in battery material characterization and battery testing, especially on single particles
