Job Description:

The Liao Lab at the University of Florida, Whitney Laboratory for Marine Bioscience seeks a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher to investigate fish behavior and schooling in St. Augustine Florida. The project includes investigating the hydrodynamics, sensory neuroscience and swimming efficiency of wild fish schools.

The postdoctoral associate will be expected to lead research activities related to these topics, including designing and performing experiments, developing and executing protocols, performing data analysis, and writing manuscripts and grants. The position may involve aspects of independent and team research, as well as training and mentoring other lab members.

Expected Salary:

Salary will be commensurate with experience

Minimum Requirements:

The ideal candidate has a Ph.D. in engineering, biology, neuroscience, computer science or related fields and has a competitive publication record. We are a lab that supports diversity and inclusion. Candidates from groups that are traditionally underrepresented in the sciences are encouraged to apply. Applicants with extensive experience in electrophysiology, biomechanics, or robotics are especially encouraged to apply.
