Job Description

The Hankamer School of Business at Baylor University invites applications for a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer position in Accounting and Business Law starting Fall 2024. This essential role in the University’s academic mission makes an extensive contribution to Baylor’s rich tradition of teaching excellence; Lecturers/Senior Lecturers are responsible for teaching four (4) sections per semester. The Department of Accounting and Business Law: Accounting and Business Law, one of seven departments in the Hankamer School of Business, has a strong tradition of educating professionals who achieve positions of leadership in international organizations. The Department is AACSB-accredited and offers three degrees - BBA, Master of Accountancy (MAcc), and Master of Taxation (MTax). The flagship program is an integrated five-year curriculum that culminates in either the MAcc or MTax degree. With the current trends in our discipline, the department incorporates data analytics throughout the curriculum, and graduate students can earn a Certificate in Accounting Data and Analytics while completing coursework. The department has 27 accounting faculty members, approximately 600 undergraduate majors, and 115 graduate students. For more information see www.baylor.edu/business/accounting/.

Qualifications

The position requires at least a Master's degree and three years of professional experience.

The ideal candidate will have significant experience in accounting systems, analytics, tax, or managerial accounting. They will also have an active CPA license or CMA certification, or a similar professional qualification.

The applicant should be able to demonstrate their commitment to high-quality teaching and innovative and inclusive education.
